The 2026 Technical Regulations introduce a revised layout for the Floor Edge.
The floor edge incorporates a multi-slot geometry combined with an upper fence, engineered to mitigate tyre-contact-patch–induced pressure losses and reinforce the robustness of the floor’s sealing vortex system. This configuration enhances shear-layer stability, preserves underfloor mass-flow continuity, and reduces the susceptibility of the diffuser to wake-related load drop-off.
